ILONA NÓTÁR

Ilona Nótár is a Hungarian-Roma cultural anthropologist, coming from a big family, with 6 siblings. She studies cultural anthropology at Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem Budapest, Hungary, she is a first-generation intellectual in her family. She was led by her dreams and thirst for knowledge in her whole life. Self-supporting since she was 17, started her family before she got her Master’s degree. Worked as a researcher and started to study to became a midwife at Semmelweis University Budapest. 

Now she is a PhD student, her research field is the identities of Roma intellectual women. She wrote multiple fiction books, and she keeps trainings. According to her, the main achievement of her life is the Program of education for self-conscious life. The target group for this program are disadvantaged students, helping them to „Dare to dream!” It is an interactive training which considers the cultural differences between the participant students. The main goal is to teach them self-knowledge, to help them set goals with drama pedagogy methods.
